Help Duncan realise his tennis dream
Duncan Robertson, a Scottish 13 year old has set his sights on becoming part of The Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy Summer School in Florida this summer as he pursues his dream of becoming one of the world’s elite tennis players of the future.
His first hurdle is to raise the funds necessary to be at the academy’s summer school in June where he can showcase his talent to join the academy full time. With this in mind Duncan is setting about doing a special sponsorship during his Easter holidays which involves (sponsorship still to be finalised)
Duncan (pictured) said, ‘I’ve been playing tennis since I was six and am so determined to do what it takes to reach the top. I want to go to the Florida academy, as I will gain so much experience there working with the top coaches and players my age and older. I hope eventually to get into the top 100 in the world at least!’
To date Duncan, who will be 14 in April, has had coaching both in Scotland and in Hong Kong where his father works. Roland Liu, one of the top tennis coaches in Hong Kong said, ‘If Duncan continues to work hard; tennis can open a lot of doors for him later on in his life. This with a great education and a high standard of tennis will help him create opportunities for himself. He is a very determined young man which will stand him in good stead and the academy life will bring his game on by leaps and bounds … ’
